Business Intelligence Specialist

In the Innovation & Digital Channels Department, we are looking for a passionate Business Intelligence Specialist.

The Business Intelligence Specialist reports to the Manager Innovation & Digital Channels. The Business Intelligence Specialist is responsible for designing data modeling/analysis used to explore the business systems and applications for knowledge and information that improve business processes.

What will you be doing?

Data mining

• You are responsible for generating and providing insight into data using dashboards and/or reports, taking into account preconditions, such as technical feasibility and ease of use.
• You contribute to the continuous improvement of the Bank’s data warehouses by anticipating future challenges.
• You collect business intelligence data through public information, industry and field reports, or purchased sources to help make informed decisions about business practices.
• You are responsible for the quality of the data that you compile, model, and check for accuracy.
• You assist in the development of data management policies and procedures.
• You devise and design efficient ways to collect necessary data from structured, unstructured, and human data sources.

Management process

• You design and develop – in collaboration with various departments – periodic reports, dashboards & alert boards.
• In addition to these periodic reports, you also make ad hoc data analyses and presentations.
• You proactively think along about specifying reporting needs at the start of new processes and projects, and how to safeguard them.
• You provide and apply best practices for quality assurance and data mining/analysis application across the organization.

Projects

• You participate in (organization-wide) unit projects and realize them efficiently and effectively within time and budget.
• You coordinate the implementation with the various departments concerning the periodic reports and dashboards.

What do we ask for?

• Higher Professional Education (HBO) diploma in computer science or statistics;
• Two years of work experience in a similar position at a financial institution;
• Strong understanding of data mining models, structures, theories, principles, and practices;
• Strong familiarity with preparing, processing, classifying, and forecasting data;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Problem-solving skills;
• Being customer- and service oriented;
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
