What is Mopé?

Mopé is a digital wallet in the form of a mobile application. Using the Mopé app, you can pay and receive money easily and securely. You can link the wallet to your Surinamese bank account, and transfer money from your bank account to your wallet. In addition, you can link one account of each currency type to your mobile wallet. The USD and EUR limit is equivalent to the SRD limit. Even if you don’t hold a bank account, you can receive and pay money using Mopé. Mopé is completely free of charge.

There are no costs associated with making transactions using the wallet. Mopé is a Hakrinbank service. Bank account numbers of all Surinamese banks that are affiliated with BNETS can be linked to Mopé.

By linking your bank account to Mopé, you can easily top-up your wallet, but also transfer money back to your bank account.

Secure

Hakrinbank N.V.’s highest priority is secure payment transactions, whereby your personal data are protected against loss, or unauthorized access. An important measure is the security of the wallet by means of biometric data. This means that no actions can be performed without you being physically present. Access to your wallet is secured by your PIN/facial recognition, or fingerprint scan. The Mopé wallet meets the latest standards of mobile wallets. All transactions within the wallet are stored in your wallet. This means that others do not have access to your transactions.

What is the Mopé debit card?

The Mopé debit card is linked to a Mopé account or wallet. Using this debit card, you can pay at any POS terminal in Suriname, and you can withdraw money at any ATM affiliated with BNETS.
