Manager Financial Restructuring & Recovery

At the Financial Restructuring & Recovery Department, we are looking for a passionate Manager Financial Restructuring & Recovery.

The Financial Restructuring & Recovery Manager reports to the Chief Commercial Officer. The Financial Restructuring & Recovery Manager is responsible for the strategic process of restructuring or settlement of non-performing loans, the primary goal of which is to generate returns for the institution, converting potential losses into revenue.

What will you be doing?

Management and Policy

  • You develop the financing recovery policy as part of the strategic financial policy in accordance with the Hakrinbank strategy, planning, and control cycle.
  • You determine the financing recovery framework and develop quality standards for the service and the credit review processes, and you ensure their realization.
  • You identify and assess the risks involved on the basis of collected data, and formulate adeqwwwe control measures for their mitigation or prevention.
  • You ensure implementation and compliance with local and international compliance and lending standards, laws and regulations.
  • You establish a communication protocol within the recovery policy for standards and guidelines, cultivating good practices and a payment culture among clients, in order to retain clients and grant re-lend potential.
  • You help establish KPIs for loan, credit review, and credit quality processes.

Operations

  • You monitor the non-performing loan portfolio and ensure tight control of the case portfolio/finances to maximize the contribution to the goals for the collection of funds, recovery rates, and restructuring proposals, and depreciation times.
  • You establish new policies as needed to ensure efficient case management and to ensure that all compliance issues are implemented and handled efficiently.
  • You provide training and sessions for all stakeholders to improve the quality of service related to the handling of problem loans, restructuring or recovery, and foreclosure management.
  • You closely monitor the developments of legal cases (in collaboration with the Legal Department) and ensure that the cases are properly closed.

Reporting

  • You set up a management dashboard, and report the progress of the non-performing loan portfolio. 

Giving guidance

  • You conduct planning, and performance appraisal interviews in accordance with the HR planning, and appraisal cycle.
  • You coach, facilitate, and support employees in order to increase job satisfaction and professional competence.
  • You ensure correct staff deployment (allocation and motivation) of employees of the department, and you ensure good qualitative and quantitative staffing.
  • You are responsible for (arranging) training in order to increase the professional competence of employees and stakeholders.

Projects

  • You participate in (organization-wide) unit projects and achieve them efficiently and effectively within time and budget.

What do we ask for?

  • Academic training – Business economics or equivalent degree.
  • Five years in a leadership position in lending or Business Banking.
  • Excellent oral and written skills in the Dutch language.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Demonstrated good technical, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical, planned, and problem-solving mentality.
  • Being discreet, empathetic, and diplomatic.
  • Strategic insight into business processes as a basis for the identification of improvement processes.
  • Excellent PC knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
